A construction company has completed a dramatic transformation of a rundown industrial building in Syracuse’s lakefront area into a mixed-use building with apartments and office space.
Montreal Construction Inc. added a second floor to the former American Bag & Metal Co. building at 400 Spencer St. and gave the structure an entirely new look. It has named the building simply 400 Spencer Street.
Already, it has rented out two of the building’s five apartments. The other three are still available for lease. The construction company is using the building’s 4,000 square feet of first-floor office space as its temporary headquarters until a tenant is found for it.
